Alleged cold-blooded murder of stepmother over land related argument, Katigorah youth in police custody

Horrific news coming in from Cachar’s Katigorah area. A youth has murdered his stepmother over a domestic brawl. This incident happened early on Sunday morning in Katigorah’s Bihara area. The accused, after killing his stepmother, tried to flee, but locals helped to hand him over to the police.

Early on Sunday morning, an exchange of words started between Ajeema Begum and her stepson, Sehkul Islam. The exchange soon turned into a heated argument and then a violent one. According to the available information, in the heat of the moment, Sehkul allegedly attacked Ajeema with a sharp weapon and cut her throat. The argument was over a related related question.

Ajeema died on the spot after heavy blood loss and the impact of the attack. Following that, Sehkul tried to escape from the spot, but the local villagers didn’t let that happen.

With the help of the community, the alleged criminal was caught and later handed over to Katigorah Police. After police arrived to take stock of the situation, the body of the deceased was sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem.
