Alto runs over a man in Cachar, drags dead body for five kilometres
In a triggering incident last night, an Alto car not only ran over a pedestrian and dragged him under the wheels for almost 5 kilometres. This incident happened in the Rajpur area of Jalalpur in Cachar. The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Teli. After the accident in Rajpur village, the car dragged Teli up to the India Bangladesh border and stopped in front of a BSF camp.
The Alto car bearing the registration number AS 11 R 1270 has been seized by the police. Even though the police have been unsuccessful in nabbing the driver, an investigation is going on in that matter. The Katigorah and Kalain Police rushed to the spot upon hearing this news. They have recovered the dead body of Sanjay Teli who died due to severe injuries in his body. His arms seemed to have almost separated from the body.
Other than Sanjay Teli, Krishna Adhikari and Babu Munda has also sustained serious injuries. Another man Nirmal Baishnab has also been injured in the same accident. The Alto car allegedly rammed over these pedestrians who were walking on the road. Taking advantage of the darkness of the night, the driver of the car escaped before anyone could catch him.
The police rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment and sent the dead body for postmortem. The motive behind this accident is yet to be found.
