Amritkal’s Self-Reliant India Pledge Proven False; Massive Paper Industry Shutdown Reveals China-Allegiance: Alleges JACRU
In a groundbreaking revelation by the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics of India, explosive data indicates a staggering 43% increase in paper imports to India from April 2023 to September 2023. Despite an unprecedented depreciation in the value of the dollar, a colossal 95,900,000 (ninety-five million nine hundred thousand) metric tons of foreign paper, primarily from China, has flooded into the country.
In an press briefing issued by Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU), the union body of the Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills, it is said that two major paper industries in Assam, dedicated to the development of handmade paper, cloth, and bamboo, have closed down after investing a substantial INR 41.41 billion in self-sustainability. Consequently, India is now heavily dependent on paper imports from China and other Asian countries, marking a dark chapter in the nation’s economic and strategic independence.
On one side, the demise of two lakh jobs, including graduates in engineering, IT, MBA, and other fields, and on the other, a sinister conspiracy to secure India’s industrial and economic fate in China’s hands, signifies a traitorous plot beyond mere economic downturn.
While promises to revive the paper industry are consistently broken, the closure of two major units and the disturbing trend of relying on China for vital imports highlight the glaring hypocrisy of our leaders. The nation stands at the brink of a dark future, as our indigenous industries crumble, and economic interests are sacrificed for foreign dependency.
The recent pledge by Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, dated 07/07/2022, ensuring the revival of the paper industry, remains unfulfilled, leaving citizens skeptical and anxious. Actions speak louder than words, and the closure of two major units, coupled with a blatant disregard for national interests, raises concerns about the integrity of these promises.
Manabendra Chakraborty, the president of Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU), the union body of the Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills, issues a fervent call to halt foreign paper imports, revive indigenous industries, and build a self-reliant India. The current government’s complicity in the destruction of domestic industries raises the urgent need for people’s support in the upcoming 2024 elections.
JACRU, spearheading the movement against the destructive path of the current government, calls on the people to unite for the protection of our national interests.
