AP Dhillon Live in Silchar This New Year’s Eve Fake Post Goes Viral: “Winter High!”
A promotional creative featuring the image of Indo-Canadian sensation AP Dhillon has gone viral on social media, causing confusion and chaos among music enthusiasts in Silchar. The banner claims that AP Dhillon will be performing live in Silchar as part of his Takeover Tour on December 31, promising attendees a chance to meet several Bollywood celebrities. However, investigations reveal that the promotional material is entirely fabricated and has malicious intentions.
The fake banner, which has spread rapidly through WhatsApp, lists the venue as Badripar Field, Silchar, urging the public to purchase tickets for the purported event. The misleading information has not only stirred excitement among locals but has also led to unintended consequences for legitimate New Year’s Eve party organisers in the region.
One of the actual event organisers, who is hosting a real New Year’s Eve celebration at a recognised venue, expressed concern over the impact of the fake banner on their operations. They shared, “We have received several calls today from individuals seeking refunds. When we inquired about the reason for the refund requests, they presented us with this AP Dhillon party leaflet. Even we were taken aback initially, but upon investigation, we confirmed that this is entirely false. The use of a celebrity’s image in this manner is illegal, and we hope that the Cyber Crime department will take appropriate action.”
AP Dhillon, a rising star in the music industry, has gained immense popularity for his unique blend of Punjabi and Western influences. Some of his chart-topping numbers include “Majhail”, “Brown Munde”, and “Excuse Me Miss”. Known for his energetic performances and infectious beats, AP Dhillon has amassed a massive fan base globally.
The fake banner not only discredits the genuine efforts of event organisers but also raises concerns about the misuse of celebrities’ images for deceptive purposes. Authorities are urged to investigate the matter, and the Cyber Crime department is expected to take cognizance of this fraudulent promotion.
As the New Year approaches, the organisers of legitimate events in Silchar are working diligently to clarify the misinformation and ensure that the public can enjoy a safe and authentic celebration. The incident serves as a reminder for the community to exercise caution and verify information before making any purchases or commitments based on promotional material circulating on social media platforms.
