College University and the construction of Model Degree Colleges in Dholai and Lakhipur were lauded as game-changers for academic excellence in the region. Urban modernization projects under the AMRUT scheme were highlighted for their role in improving living standards and fostering sustainable urban growth.

Minister Rai also spotlighted the ongoing construction of a mini secretariat near ITI Srikona, expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This landmark project aims to streamline administrative efficiency and improve service delivery for the region.

The celebrations began with Minister Kaushik Rai laying a wreath at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Silchar’s Gandhi Bagh.
