Assam Govt. Advt for LP, UP teachers: 18-month D.EI.Ed. obtained from the NIOS not valid
In a recent notification issued by the Government of Assam’s Office Of The Director of Elementary Education, a significant ruling by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has altered the landscape of teacher recruitment in LP and UP Schools across the state.
The Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam, released two crucial advertisements, numbered 383723/117 and 383723/124, on 26/12/2023. These advertisements, crafted in compliance with the Supreme Court’s order dated 28/11/2023, have brought to light a pivotal aspect regarding the eligibility criteria for aspiring teachers.
The notification stated, “The qualification of an 18-month Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) obtained from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) no longer holds validity for fresh recruitment to the position of teachers.”
This notable development, backed by the Government’s approval in the Department of School Education in eFile No. 383723 dated 01.01.2023, has redefined the prerequisites for teachers vying for positions in Assam’s LP and UP Schools.
It’s imperative to note that while this change in qualification standards has been established, all other terms and conditions outlined in the previously mentioned advertisements will remain unaltered.
