In a tragic turn of affairs, Assam Rifles jawan has killed his wife and daughter. The incident came to light today morning when the locals of Srikona Assam Rifles Camp spotted a lady lying on the ground. Soon they understood that someone has died and started digging into the matter further.

As it turned out, the throat of 30-year-old lady and 11-year-old girl were slit. Both of them were lying dead. They happened to be the wife and daughter of Rabindra Kumar, Assam Rifles Jawan from Jammu deployed in Srikona.

The local Police were informed about the incident and the investigating officer stated that Kumar was initially absconding. However, later they found him and detained him on the basis of prima facie circumstantial evidence. He was escorted to the crime scene and according to the officer, he confessed in crime. The Police also recovered the dao which was used as the weapon of crime.

According to Police sources, Rabindra Kumar stated that he has killed them due to “some internal family tension.” The Police did not reveal the details of the murder. Both the dead bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Police also informed that Rabindra Kumar has been arrested and following a medical test, he has been forwarded to the custody. The Police official informed that legal proceedings will follow and actions will be taken as asked by the law.
