Assam Rifles jawans detain magic driver in Barak Valley; Pistol, bullets seized

In Barak Valley’s Udharbond area, Assam Rifles Jawans detained a Magic vehicle driver today morning. Identified as Azir Uddin Barbhuiya, the 34 year old is son of Motahir Ali Barbhuiya and a resident of Udharbond’s Durganagar Part IV.

As per sources, based on a secret tipoff the Assam Rifles Jawans had set a trap at around 8:00 AM today morning near DNHS school located next to the highway. As planned when AS11 E 0557 was passing by, the jawans stopped the vehicle and launched a search operation. They found a pistol and 24 bullets. The jawans seized all the ammunition and handed over Azir Uddin to the local Police.

Azir however pleaded innocence and said that like every other day, today morning  too he was heading to the school to drop students. He said he did not have any clue about the ammunition.

Police is now investigating the matter.
