Assam University Introduces BBA and Executive MBA Programs to Enhance Management Education

In a move to enhance management education and meet the demands of the evolving business landscape, the Department of Business Administration at Assam University has announced the initiation of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. This decision comes as part of the institution’s adaptation to the National Education Policy 2020 and its commitment to providing excellent academic and research opportunities.

Established in 1997, the Department of Business Administration at Assam University has gained a reputation as one of the leading management institutions in the eastern and northeastern regions of India. Over the years, it has consistently achieved a 100 percent placement record, with its alumni assuming prominent positions in national and multinational companies.

Until now, the department has been offering a two-year full-time MBA program and a Ph.D. research program. The 25th batch of MBA students is nearing completion, having received multiple job offers from renowned recruiters, including the highest package offered at 10 lakhs.

Under the newly introduced framework, the Department of Business Administration will enroll students for the BBA program and the one-year Executive MBA program from the upcoming academic year. To be eligible for the BBA program, candidates must have completed their 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from any discipline with a minimum of 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA. For admission to the Executive MBA program, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks and a minimum of two years of industrial experience. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.

The BBA program will require successful candidates to pay Rs 51,320 per year, while the Executive MBA program will cost 49,500 semester. Recognizing the professional commitments of Executive MBA candidates, classes will be conducted in the evening from 6 PM to 9 PM and will also be available in a hybrid mode, combining online and offline formats.
