Assam University Silchar: All three apprehended; protest withdrawn

All the accused person, who assaulted three Assam university students near medical point on Tuesday evening, has been arrested on Thursday morning.

While one was arrested yesterday morning, the other two has been nabbed by Cachar Police today morning. The name of the three arrested are Ziaur Rehman Laskar, Kartik Chasha & Mangal Singh. All will be produced to court later today.

Assam University Student’s Union GS, Aritra Dhar, in facebook note thanked everyone for their support and informed that their strike remains withdrawn. “Two whole night and a day long protest finally have become successful after full of struggle. Three of the culprits have finally get arrested. It is a step towards the journey to help our sister to get justice. In this journey I thank District Administration and Cachar Police for your tremendous co-operation” he mentioned.
