Barak Valley to get 29 new petrol pumps
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the largest oil company in India, has announced to set up 29 new petrol pumps in Barak Valley.
IOCL senior manager Dayamoy Biswas conveyed the information while inviting entrepreneurs from Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts to set up 29 petrol stations throughout the valley. He said that the company is eyeing to set up 14 petrol stations in Cachar district, 8 in Karimganj district and 7 more in Hailakandi district.
“In order to apply, one is required to be an Indian citizen and be within the 21 – 60 years age group”, he said.
Also speaking on the occasion, IOCL Manager (Engineering branch) Biswarup Bhattacharjee said that the decision was made keeping in consideration the rising prices and demand of oil in the market. He noted that a total of 781 petrol pumps will be set up all over the northeast with 462 of those to be set up within Assam itself. Among the other northeastern states, 64 oil retail outlets will be set up in Arunachal Pradesh, 84 in Manipur, 87 in Meghalaya, 50 in Nagaland and 34 more in Tripura.

The application deadline has been set to December 24, 2018.
