‘Belur Math’ is Bengaluru Sreehatta Sammelani’s theme this Durga Puja; Live baul performances to entertain members

Bengaluru Sreehatta Sammelani (BSS), the sylheti association of Bengaluru, is gearing up for its annual Durga Puja Mahotsav to be solemnized between 11th October and 15th October 2021. This will be the third consecutive year of Durga Puja for BSS. With support from its every member since its inception in 2006, BSS has been able to grow enormously.

“We have been feeling immense happiness in meeting and connecting with all the Sylheti’s in Bengaluru, and performing Durga Puja at Bengaluru for the sylheti diaspora gives us great satisfaction,” speaks Nabarun Purkayastha, the President of BSS. 2019’s Durga Puja was performed with all pomp and fervor, however, due to COVID-19 in 2020 Durga Puja celebrations were low-key, and this year too, Durga Puja will be performed with all COVID-19 protocols mentioned by the government.

The puja theme in BSS Puja Mondop this year would be Belur Math, the iconic Ramkrishna Math; and to grace the occasion Revered Swami Tattwarupananda Ji Maharaj(Adhyaksha) and Revered Swami Nandishwarananda Ji Maharaj, both from Ramakrishna Math Halasuru Bengaluru, will visit the mondop on Saptami morning. The assigned team members of every department like the crowd-management team, puja team, hall-decoration team, cultural team, bhog team, media team, and finance team are busy pre-planning the Durga Puja and giving the visitors a seamless experience in mondop.

Secretary, of BSS, Rittam Bhattacharjee says, “We request all the devotees to register with us through BSS website-bssbangalore.com, this will help us to allot time slot to each family. This will aid in avoiding large congregations at a single point in time. We request co-operation from all.” All devotees who want to visit the mondop must register and based on that a particular time slot will be provided to offer pushpanjali at the lotus feet of Maa Durga and seek her blessings. This arrangement is done keeping in mind the safety of all and crowd-management. Masks and social distancing would be also mandatory within the Mondop premises.

Popular Bengali folk & Baul song band-Surma Dohar- are coming LIVE on the BSS Facebook page-https://www.facebook.com/sreehatta to mesmerize all its viewers.
