BJP appoints Bimalendu Roy as the new president of the Cachar District BJP

The Assam state BJP president, Bhabesh Kalita today issued a notification wherein he declared Bimalendu Roy of Silchar as the new president for the Chachar district BJP machinery. Roy till now was in the position of the acting president of the unit and has now been made the regular president.

Roy meanwhile thanked Bhabesh Kalita (Assam State BJP President), Phanindranath Das (General Secretary Organization), Himanta Biswa Sarma (Chief minister of Assam), Ajay Jamaal (North Eastern Organisational Secretary), Rajdeep Roy (MP, Silchar), all MLAs of Cachar and the State and central leadership for entrusting the responsibilities on him.

It is worth mentioning here that Roy succeeds Kaushik Rai who won the MLA elections from Lakhipur constituency contesting against Congress’s Mukesh Pandey.

It will be interesting to see how the BJP Cachar unit functions and grows through Roy’s tenure as the president.
