BREAKING: Bad Weather Condition Postpones Recruitment Test for Police Constables
The physical tests for police recruitment, which began today across Assam, were postponed in Silchar due to adverse weather conditions. While candidates had gathered at the Silchar Police Parade Ground early in the morning, continuous rainfall since dawn left the field waterlogged and unsuitable for the event.
Superintendent of Police for Cachar, Numal Mahatta, confirmed the decision to suspend the tests temporarily. “Due to unavoidable weather circumstances, we had to cancel today’s exam. It was scheduled for around 600 female candidates who were supposed to appear for the physical round” said the SP.
He also added, “The entire track was damaged by the incessant rainfall over the past two nights. We are working to restore the track urgently, and today’s exam has been rescheduled for November 10. The rest of the exams will continue as per the original schedule. Unfortunately, around 500 candidates had to be sent back today”, while speaking to the media.
The Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) are being conducted by the State Police Recruitment Board of Assam for the recruitment of AB and UB constables.
