The management of Daloo Tea Estate an unit of Doloo Tea Company, “noted with distress” that a large section of workers are regularly “disobeying lawful Kamjari dally deployment order.”

Supriya Sikdar, Deputy Manager, Daloo Tea Estate In his order mentioned several times that the permanent workforce as well as the contractual ones are frequently violating the lawful Kamjari deployment.

“Due to complete lawlessness and delay in reporting at work place by workers plucking round could not be maintained and the management of Daloo Tea estate has suffered a irrepairable loss in terms of quantity and quality of tea produced,” states the Lock-out order.

It is worth mentioning here, the top management of the tea estate in presence of representatives of the district administration through the press had assured that there won’t be any lockout forcing losses to the workers deployed in the tea estate when he was briefing about the construction of the greenfield airport.

The order that comes as a complete U-turn adds, “The above act of the workers being non-maintaining of statutory working hours denying Kamjari order of lawful management order have been viewed seriously by the garden management. It has become absolutely impossible to run and manage the garden meaningfully the management of Daloo Tea estate constrained to hearby declare lockout of all operations of Garden with immediate effect”

The order concludes, “It may be noted that during the period of lockout the employees will not be entitled to any wages, ration or related facilities/benefits stop it is also stated that legal claim in respect any financial loss during such illegal acts of workers and the consequent Lock-Out also be filed on the garden Panchayat without any prejudice.”
