BSF Jawan from Cachar’s Dholai dies mysteriously; Family accuses girlfriend, lodges complaint

In a heartbreaking incident, Suraj Kairi, a BSF jawan from Putikhal locality under Dholai P.S. Jurisdiction, serving at 156 BN BSF in Bagma district, Tripura, was found severely weak on January 20, reportedly due to poisoning, and sadly passed away the next day.

Reports suggest that Suraj Kairi was involved in a relationship with a fellow BSF jawan, also named Kairi, stationed in Bagma District, Tripura. The victim’s mother, in the filed FIR, claimed that the two were in a serious relationship and had plans to get married. However, the family accuses the woman of deceiving Suraj, alleging that she took money from him under the pretext of marriage and later refused to marry him.

This heartbreaking refusal had a significant impact on Suraj Kairi, who attempted suicide three months prior by stabbing himself. Fortunately, he was admitted to G.B. Hospital in Agartala, Tripura, and doctors managed to save his life.

As per the FIR, on January 4, Suraj set out to return home to Putikhal but soon stopped contacting his family. Days later, villagers found him severely weak, apparently due to poisoning, at a location in Putikhal. His family rushed to his aid and took him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, but sadly, he couldn’t survive, passing away the next day.

The grieving family holds the Kairi woman responsible for the alleged mental harassment and accuses her of embezzling money from Suraj. The accused, a resident of Unakoti district in Tripura, now faces demands for justice and strict action.

The sorrowful turn of events has left the entire family enveloped in grief, with the father seeking justice and urging for decisive action. Another individual emphasized the need for the police to apprehend the accused and bring her to Silchar Jail.
