
BUKSS Media Cricket Fest 2026 Final: Barak Bulletin defeats Nababarta to win 14th Edition
In a rain-curtailed final at the Satindra Mohan Dev Memorial Stadium, Barak Bulletin Media Challenges clinched the BUKSS Media Cricket Fest 2026 title with a commanding 18-run victory over Nababarta Media Warriors in a 12-over-a-side contest.
Put into bat after losing the toss, Barak Bulletin Media Challenges posted a competitive 124/4 in their allotted 12 overs, riding on an unbeaten knock from Anirban Roy Choudhury. The right-hander anchored the innings with a blistering 64 off just 32 deliveries, striking seven boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 200.
After an early flourish from Pritam Das (21), Barak Bulletin lost a couple of quick wickets but Anirban ensured the momentum never dipped. He stitched crucial partnerships, particularly with Monoj Roy (15), before accelerating in the death overs to take his side past the 120-mark—an imposing total in a shortened format.
For Nababarta Media Warriors, skipper Humayun Kabir Jashim was the standout with the ball, returning impressive figures of 2 for 7 in his three overs, keeping things tight despite the onslaught at the other end.
Chasing 125 in 12 overs, Nababarta Media Warriors began cautiously but were jolted early by Anirban’s spell. The Barak Bulletin all-rounder delivered a match-winning performance with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for just 13 runs in his three overs, dismantling the top and middle order. Wicket Keeper Satyajit Suklabaidya played a pivotal role as three of the four Wickets were stumping.
Though Debabrata Deb (33*) held one end firm and Abdul Kayum Laskar provided late fireworks with a quickfire 27 off 11 balls, the required rate kept climbing. The Warriors eventually finished at 106/5, falling short by 18 runs in the summit clash.
Biman Sinha chipped in with the crucial wicket of best batsman of the tournament, Humayun Kabir Jashim but the day belonged to Anirban Roy Choudhury, whose all-round brilliance—both with bat and ball—defined the final and sealed a memorable championship win for Barak Bulletin Media Challenges.
In a final shortened by weather but high on intensity, Barak Bulletin emerged as deserving champions, showcasing composure, captain Ahadul Ahmed Laskar lifted the cup and the team started celebrating. Barak Bulletin’s Satyajit Suklabaidya was adjudged the wicket keeper of the tournament. Pritam Das was awarded best fielder of the tournament while Anirban Roy Choudhury took home the Man of The Series title.
