
Cachar DC declares March 8 as local holiday for celebration of Dol Jatra, Holi Festival
In a recent announcement made yesterday by Rohan Kumar Jha, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, a local holiday has been declared in the district on March 8, 2023 for celebration of Dol Jatra/Holi festival. The declaration has been made under the powers conferred by the Assam Government Notification No e file No.221561/1 dtd 28/11/2022.
As per the announcement, all state government offices, including revenue and magisterial courts, educational institutions, and financial institutions will remain closed on March 8. However, emergency services will continue to function as usual, and all duties and services related to various kinds of examinations, written tests, interviews, and ancillary services related thereto will not be affected by the holiday.
The holiday has been declared in the spirit of the vibrant and colorful festival of Dol Jatra/Holi, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal throughout the country. This decision will provide an opportunity for people to enjoy the festival with their families and loved ones, without worrying about work or other engagements.
