
Cachar Man Among Two Killed in Dima Hasao Road Accident
A quiet journey turned into a devastating tragedy when a vehicle crash in Assam’s Dima Hasao district led to multiple casualties. The shocking visuals and reports from the scene have left the community in mourning and raised serious concerns about road safety in the area.
The accident took place in Hatikhali area of Dima Hasao when a Bolero vehicle collided head-on with a container truck. The Bolero was travelling from Hojai towards Silchar when the incident occurred.
Two people died on the spot, while two others suffered severe injuries. One of the deceased has been identified as Nawaz Ahmed Choudhury from Katigorah. The identity of the second victim is yet to be confirmed. Among the injured is Choudhury’s son, Tawfiq Zaman Choudhury, who sustained critical injuries in the crash.
As per eyewitness accounts and police sources, the accident occurred when the Bolero, returning from a school in Hojai with Choudhury and his son, collided with an oncoming container truck. The impact of the crash was intense, leaving little time for the victims to react or escape.
The Bolero vehicle has been left completely mangled by the collision. Photographs and videos from the site reveal the horrifying extent of the damage, highlighting the force of the crash. The injured were first rushed to Lumding Civil Hospital before being referred to Diphu Medical College for advanced treatment.
