
Cachar Police Apprehends Manipur Woman With 20,000 Yaba Tablets
In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Cachar Police arrested a woman from Manipur and seized a huge quantity of suspected YABA tablets on Tuesday (January 6) from the state bordering regions of Cachar.
Based on reliable inputs, the accused, Rahenliu, wife of late Gainingthai and a resident of Oinamlong in Tamenglong district of Manipur, was apprehended from Jirighat PHE Road in Cachar.
During a search, police recovered 10 packets containing 20,000 YABA tablets, weighing 2,155.2 grams, from her possession.
Police confirmed that the seized tablets tested positive for narcotic substances using a drug detection kit. The entire seizure was carried out in the presence of independent witnesses and strictly as per the provisions of the NDPS Act.
Cachar Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.
