Cachar Police confirms safe rescue of drivers abducted at gunpoint from Joypur Quarry
In a dramatic turn of events following a harrowing abduction at Joypur Stone Quarry near Aina Cherra, Cachar District, a 45-hour-long operation spearheaded by Cachar SP Numal Mahatta culminated in the safe rescue of all three abducted individuals at approximately 3 am today.
The abduction, characterized by armed assailants storming the quarry premises and coercively abducting two JCB drivers and a Tipper Truck driver, had sparked widespread panic among workers and locals alike.The abducted individuals were identified as Raju Tanti from Aina Cherra, a JCB driver, Amit Urang from Modhura Nagar, also a JCB driver, and Biswa Dhar from Udharbond, a Tipper Truck driver.
