Cachar Police seizes detonators, gelatin sticks, drugs; apprehends one

Acting on a tip off, Cachar Police on Wednesday night achieved a great success by recovering a detonator and some gelatin sticks from a vehicle, that was moving from Bagha Bazar toward Mizoram.

In a statement, police said, “Information was received regarding a vehicle bearing registration no. MZ 01H 1616 coming from Bagha Bazar toward Mizoram carrying illegal drugs and other suspected articles. OC Dhaliwal PS along with Battalion staff rushed to the spot and detained the said vehicle near Lailapur area.”

The statement added “During searching vehicle thoroughly, we recovered total two number of Gelatin sticks, one detonator and three number of fuses, 6 small plastic containers having suspected NDPS, total 100 number suspected NDPS tablets, 5 number of syringes used for injecting drugs, 300 number of small empty plastic containers used for selling of illegal drugs and one mobile phone, which are duly seized on the spot and apprehended one person namely Banjamin Laskar S/O Lutfar Rahman Laskar from Village Bongran, Baghabazar. Another person Sumin Laskar of village Jamalpur managed to fled away.”

Police mentioned that a case has been registered in this regard vide Dholai PS case no.11/20 and investigation is on.
