Cachar Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 6 Crore, Three Arrested

Cachar Police seized heroin worth around Rs 6 crore during an operation on Friday night (November 7) under Dholai Police Station. Acting on credible intelligence, police intercepted a Bolero pick-up truck (registration number AS11EC7130) suspected of carrying drugs towards Silchar.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Partha Protim Das. Upon thorough checking of the vehicle, police recovered 94 plastic soap cases filled with suspected heroin, weighing about 1.2 kilograms. Along with the drugs, several mobile phones were also seized from the possession of the suspects.

Three people were arrested from the vehicle. They have been identified as Bailhein Koki, Kimnelhein Dongel, and Henkholun Dongel. Among them, two are women and one is a man. All three are now in police custody.

A case has been registered under Sections 21(C), 25, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Dholai Police Station. The accused have been remanded for further interrogation, and official procedures are ongoing.
