Class IX student in Cachar kills himself allegedly after father slapped him

In a tragic turn of affair, a 14-year-old killed himself on Saturday. The incident has occurred in Udharbond’s Chankira area. According to the available information, father of the Class IX student studying at DNHS in Udharbond yelled at him last night at around 9:30 pm for not studying. 

“The whole study hours have passed and you haven’t opened the book.. that’s all I told him and then slapped him once,” the father told us.

“At around 3:30 in morning, we found that he is not on his bed and we started looking for him everywhere. As it turns out, we saw his body hanging with the branch of a tree next to the house,” added the father.

The locals have expressed their shock at the chain of events and said it is a worrisome situation where the kid has hit the break point at a slap from his father. The matter has been reported to the Police and the officials from Cachar Police have started the investigation.

The officer in charge from the Udharbond Police station said that they have recorded the version of the father, however, they have just started investigation and won’t like to reveal much at this stage.
