CM Himanta Biswa Sarma reaches Silchar; Offers puja at Kachakanti Temple, Udarbond
“This is my first visit to Silchar during Durga Puja as CM. I have come here to wish all residents of Barak Valley a very happy Durga Puja. My only request to everyone is to ensure that they are celebrating Durga Puja by following all COVID protocols,” said CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, after performing Puja at Kachakanti Temple.
As promised, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has reached Silchar to spend Maha Saptami with the residents of the city. After reaching Silchar Airport, he went straight to Kachakanti Temple in Udarbond where he performed Puja as per rituals.
The chief minister of Assam will visit various temples across the city. In the afternoon, he will visit the National Institute of Technology, Silchar and plant some saplings.
During his last visit to Silchar, Sarma had proposed an integrated circuit house for Cachar. Today, he will survey a plot of land earmarked for the project. Between pandal hopping, he will also hold important meetings with various departments in the Circuit House and Deputy Commissioner’s office.
A teething issue for Barak Valley is an unprecedented delay in construction works. Chief Minister will visit and inspect the work in progress of the bridge over river Barak at Annapurna Ghat.
Recently, there has been a lot of speculation about Himanta Biswa Sarma’s relationship with the Forest and Environment Minister of Assam, Parimal Suklabaidya. The latter organise Durga Puja at his residence and the chief minister himself is scheduled to visit the residence of Suklabaidya.
Among the pandals where he is scheduled to stop are: Malugram Panchanan Shib Bari, Nutan Patty Bhairab Bari, Premtala Bus Stand, Ramakrishna Mission Silchar, Bilpar Durgabari, Tarapur Bus Stand, Tarapur Rice Mill, Medical Representatives’ Puja in Link Road and Silcoorie Baram Baba Temple.
