
Collision Between Auto and Tripper Truck Injures Seven in Udharbond
A collision between a tripper truck and an auto-rickshaw has injured seven people from two families. This accident occurred on Monday (March 24) night in Udharbond’s Kalaratal area.
The injured have been identified as Rumi Nag (32), Rohan Nag (10), Moumi Nag (35), and Baptu Nag (40), who belong to the same family from Salganga Bazar. The other three victims—Baby Ghosh (42), Momi Ghosh (14), and Madhu Ghosh (17), are from the Kumbhirgram Airport area and were travelling in the same auto.
The accident occurred around 8 PM near Barun Stone Crusher in Kalaratal under Udharbond police station.
According to reports, Baptu Nag was driving the auto (AS-11BC-3774) from Shalganga to Silchar when a tripper truck, attempting to enter Barun Crusher, crashed into the vehicle on the highway. The collision left all seven passengers critically injured.
Local residents immediately rescued the injured and sent them to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) via a 108 ambulance. Upon receiving the information, Udharbond police station SI Papali Duar arrived at the scene with a team, conducted a preliminary investigation, and seized both the tripper truck and the auto-rickshaw.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
