Communists are vicious, all belong to Sanatan Dharma and then got converted; CM ends day-2 in RSS’ tune
On the 2nd day of his visit to Cachar, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam started his day by inagaurating a statue of the last Dimasa Kachari King Govinda Chandra Hasnusa at Circuit House Compound at around 10 AM in presence of Rupesh Khersa and other dignitaries of the valley.
Though the next plan was to fly off a helicopter from the Town Club ground to the Bhuban hills for an event there but due to an unfit helipad condition, CM Sarma had to travel to the Silchar airport to be able to board the chopper. He spent sometime at the Bhuban hills exploring and praying, and then addressed the gathering there. He unveiled a 10 crore INR worth of aid package for the overall growth and development of the Bhuban Hills.
He then made his way to the ruins of the Kachari Raja at Khaspur in the Udharbond area of Cachar. Because of the unprecedented delays of the day, he had arrived a little late to a large audience eagerly waiting for him under the scorching sun. He did a little walkthrough of the entire area having glimpses at the various points of interests spread through the place, after which he addressed to the crowd who seemed very fond of him and his charisma.
He announced, “I am sanctioning 50 crore INR and 50 more will come later for the development of this place of imprortance. Over 100 bigah of land will be utilized to make it into a signature tourist destination for people to come visit from far and wide.” He also promised to renovate and repair a bypass road to Halflong via Pailapool which will reduce the distance dramatically.
Later in the afternoon after some rest, he visited the BJP Cachar District Office where he met and addressed the BJP cadre present there. It was more of a meeting meant to give the right direction and motivation to the members to make their party’s footprint stronger and ever more powerful. In the meeting which was also attended by veteran leader Kabindra Purakaystha, CM Sarma said, “The main message and the idea of our party should reach all households and it’s on our cadres to make it reach all doorsteps. It is important to make people understand that the Govt. and the party is same and how it’s steps are greatly benefitting all.”
He also told that nobody needs to worry about the CAA and everyone is safe, while also reminding the memebers present there that, by hook or crook, all the 9 seats of Barak Valley should be saffron in colour by the next Assembly Elections.
But the highlight of the day would be the last big event he had in plan for the 2 day tour, where in he made a rather long and controversial speech addressing the audience at Banga Bhawan, Silchar. The event was a book launch by the Bimalangshu Roy Foundation on ex MLA Lt Bimalangshu Roy’s birth anniversary who also happens to be the father of MP, Silchar, Dr. Rajdeep Roy. The book ‘In Quest of Origin: A Projection On Barak-Surma’ published by Bimalangshu Roy Foundation is a collection of articles by 12 renowned intellectuals and it sheds light on many unknown historical facts. CM Sarma during his long speech made some very polarizing statements even to the extent of questioning a particular group of people’s origin.
He said, “The entire Barak Valley has sentiments of devotion to Bhagwan Shiv and Bhagwan Krishna which is the core identity and unites all. Everyone who has roots from India should identify themselves from Sanatan Dharma and over years some may have converted and some may have been forced to follow other religion. I want the Sanatani culture and heritage to be the driving force of our recognition and all other foreign history should be rubbed off.”
He even narrated a scene from the Assembly session where he had challenged his Muslim counterparts in the floor of house to name their forefathers for 4 generations and they failed. He used this instance ti stress on the point that no matter what religion you follow now, or don’t at all, there is just one root and that’s Sanatan Dharma.
Most of the parts of his speech surrounded around spiritualism and how the spiritual identity is what one should recognize as his own defying other identities of languages. He also said, “Those who remember their forefathers and have roots will only be able to live peacefully in this Nation”, a tricky statement in itself it is. Communist ideologies too was at receiving end of the speech where he termed it as the most vicious enemy of all as they try to create a divide in the name of language while all languages share the same origin in Sanskrit.
