COVID: 43-year-old Tripura resident among 5 dead in SMCH in the last 48 hours

Until 5 pm on August 9, there are 55 active Covid patients admitted to the Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). 36 of them are in the ICU ward and 19 are admitted in the Covid ward. 2 patients are under ventilation support and 41 are under oxygen support. In the 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of August 8, 10 Covid patients were admitted to the SMCH and 13 were released from the SMCH. During the same period, three patients died with Covid.

The first victim is Mina Begum, aged 45, hailing from the Asimganj area of the Cachar district. She was admitted to the SMCH on August 7 and died in the Covid ward on August 8 at 6:30 pm. The second victim is Rakhal Rudra Paul, aged 43 hailing from the North Tripura area. He was admitted to the SMCH on August 7 and died due to Covid on August 8 at 8:30 pm. The third victim is Sarada Goswami, aged 75, of the Alurail area under the Karimganj district. She was admitted to the SMCH on August 8 and died due to Covid on August 9 at 9 am.

Out of 8509 RAT done on Monday, August 9 until 5 pm, 19 positive cases have been reported.

Yesterday, there were 61 active Covid patients in the Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Among them, 40 were in the Covid ICU ward and the rest 21 were in the Covid ward. 6 patients were under ventilation support and 48 were under oxygen support. On August 8 at the SMCH, 9 Covid patients were admitted to the hospital and 6 patients were released from the same. Also, in the 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of August 8, two people have died due to Covid.

The first victim is Srinath Chauhan, aged 75, of the Shibergul area of the Karimganj district. He was admitted to the SMCH on August 5 and died due to Covid on August 7 at 7:30 pm. The second victim is Pramod Ranjan Das, aged 70, hailing from the Salchapra part II area of the Cachar district. He was admitted to the SMCH on August 8 and died due to Covid on the same day at 12:45 pm.
