নাহাটা টেক্সটাইলসের কাছে মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার, অত্যধিক মাত্রায় ড্রাগস সেবনের সন্দেহ পুলিশের
To add to the worries of the people of Silchar, a dead body of a young boy was recovered today morning from a lane next to Nahata textiles in Dewanji Bazar.
At around 6:30 in the morning, locals noticed a body lying unconsciously, “We tried to wake him up by shouting ‘kita ba utho’ (hey you, wake up) but got no response. Little later we noticed a syringe lying on the ground next to him and that is when we called Police,” says an eye witness.
Police officials immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body, “It looks like a possible case of drug overdose, however, it is too early for us to confirm that. The body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem,” says Police official in Sadar Thana (Silchar PS).
The deceased is yet to be identified but Police feel he is a local resident most probably an addict who used to visit the spot regularly to dope.
On December 7, 2018 a young man was found dead in identical conditions with a syringe lying next to him in Goldighi Mall. Another possible case of drug overdose in Silchar is certainly a worrying sign for the parents and guardians.
