District administration organises rally to celebrate National Girl Child Day

Celebrating the National Girl Child Day p2020, District Administration, Cachar organised a rally to promote the campaign for Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao in the district.

Deputy commissioner Barnali Sharma flagged off the rally. Great enthusiasm was noticed among the participants which included staff of the district administration, students, youngsters and local citizens as well.

Encouraging the girls, deputy commissioner Sharma said that this campaign is not just for implementation of a certain scheme but it aims to develop the entire society.

Citing the famous line from Napoleon Bonaparte, “give me a good mother, I will give you a good nation,” Barnali Sharma said that education is the real asset given to a woman which fuels the empowerment goal in the true sense of the term.

The deputy commissioner expected that with this campaign, the idea to uplift the status of women in the district and across the state shall be fulfilled.

It may be mentioned that the district has been organising various events to promote the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

A pledge was also taken on” Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” which was read out by Deputy commissioner and the Officials of District Administration Cachar. District social welfare officer Rajkumar Kedia also took an oath on the occasion.

District development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim, additional deputy commissioner  Rajib Roy, A.R Majumder, assistant commissioners  Maria Tanim, Kim Changsen were also present on the occasion.
