Drunken Rage in Kalain: Uncle Murders Nephew with Iron Rod, Arrested

In a horrifying incident in the Talkar Gant area of Jalalpur, Cachar district, an uncle in a drunken fit of rage brutally murdered his nephew. The accused, Bitta Goala, was arrested following an overnight police operation yesterday.

The tragic event occurred late last night when Bitta Goala, under the influence of alcohol, began hurling abuses at his nephew, Shyamal Goala. When Shyamal protested against his uncle’s behaviour, a heated argument ensued. In a sudden outburst of violence, Bitta Goala grabbed an iron rod and struck Shyamal on the head with brutal force.

Shyamal collapsed to the ground, severely injured. Local residents immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, the doctors declared Shyamal dead on arrival.

After committing the heinous act, Bitta Goala attempted to flee the scene. However, the Cachar police, responding swiftly to the crime, launched a manhunt and successfully apprehended the suspect.

The incident has shocked the local community, with residents mourning the untimely death of Shyamal Goala and expressing their disbelief over the tragic turn of events. The police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal altercation.
