Ecologist Bishal Sonar rescues 14ft King Cobra from Assam University; “This is my biggest ever” he reacts

Ecologist and wildlife conservation enthusiast, Bishal Sonar had quite the surprise waiting for him when he received a call from security personnel at Assam University Silchar. They reported two giant snakes on campus, prompting Sonar to rush over and investigate.

When he arrived, he discovered only one snake – a massive King Cobra that exceeded his expectations. “The length is about 14ft and it weighs almost 7-8KG,” Sonar reported.

Despite the snake’s enormous size, Sonar was determined to rescue it without causing harm. He spent two hours attempting to gain control of the giant snake, a task that proved to be one of the toughest in his career as a snake rescuer.

Finally, after several attempts, Sonar was able to safely place the King Cobra inside a bag. “It was one of the toughest ones to get control over such a big giant,” he revealed. “What also added to the tiredness is the gathering. over 300+ crowd gathered and were shouting from every corner scaring the snake further and complicating the rescue operation.”

King Cobras are the world’s longest venomous snakes, and they can grow up to 18 feet in length. Their venom is highly toxic and can be lethal to humans and animals, making it all the more impressive that Sonar was able to rescue this one unharmed.

The King Cobra is a highly respected and revered animal in many cultures, including Hinduism, where it is seen as a symbol of power and strength. Despite their fearsome reputation, King Cobras are also important members of their ecosystem, playing a crucial role in keeping rodent populations in check.

Thanks to Sonar’s dedication and skill, this particular King Cobra was given a chance to continue its important role in the natural world. “All is well when it ends well,” Sonar remarked. “This is by far the largest snake I have rescued.”
