Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi celebrated in Silchar, Followers pray for world peace
The devout Muslim community of Silchar, alongside millions worldwide, came together to celebrate Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi, marking the anniversary of Islam’s founder, Hazrat Mohammad’s birth anniversary.
Organised by the Cachar District Eid Miladunnabi Committee, a grand peace rally took to the streets of Silchar, commencing at Badri bridge and culminating at a field in Sonai. Approximately ten thousand faithful individuals participated in the procession, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to peace and unity. The assembly witnessed heartfelt prayers for global harmony and tranquility.
Notably, this commemoration of Muhammad’s birthday finds approval among the majority of Islamic denominations worldwide. However, it is maybe mentioned that some groups, such as Wahhabis/Salafis, Deobandis and Ahmadiyyas, do not necessarily endorse the practice.
