Fire in stores next to Silchar Public School Road; 3 Engines rush to the spot to control flames

In a devastating incident, a fire broke out in Silchar’s Hospital Road on Friday night, causing significant property damage. The fire was first spotted at around 10:30 PM coming out from a shut store adjacent to Lakhi Narayan Community Hall. Soon after, the flames started spreading to nearby stores, causing panic among the locals.

The residents acted swiftly and informed the Fire and Emergency Services about the incident. Three fire engines rushed to the spot and the firemen immediately started working to control the flames. The locals also lent a helping hand to the firefighters, assisting them in identifying the geographical dimensions of the area.

After a fierce battle of around half an hour, the fire was finally brought under control. Fortunately, no human casualties have been reported in the incident. However, property damage in huge quantities is suspected

According to the locals, the stores that were engulfed by the flames were Pushpa Stores and Patanjali Store, both located adjacent to each other. When the fire was first spotted, both the stores were locked from the outside. Although the residents tried to extinguish the fire, they could not manage to break open the doors of the stores.

Eventually, the Firemen used their tools and techniques and successfully controlled the flames. The locals expressed their gratitude towards the Fire and Emergency Services for their quick response and commendable effort in putting out the fire.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
