Flight Tickets go live for Agartala–Silchar Route after a long absence
After a long absence, flight services between Agartala and Silchar are set to resume, with tickets for the route now available for booking online. IndiGo will operate the flights starting from October 28, 2025, offering passengers a significantly faster alternative to road and rail travel, and also enhancing connectivity with other major cities.
According to a social media post by Minister Kaushik Rai, the non-stop flight will operate twice a week, on every Tuesday and Friday, using a 180-seat Airbus A320. The flight will depart from Agartala at 1:40 PM and reach Silchar at 2:15 PM. The return flight will leave Silchar at 2:45 PM and land in Agartala at 3:40 PM.
Barak Bulletin contacted the Airport Director of Silchar Airport, Pradip Kumar Gorai, who said he had not yet received any official communication regarding the flight. However, he mentioned that it could be part of the upcoming winter schedule, which has not been formally released yet.
Despite this, the availability of live tickets online strongly indicates that the service is confirmed. Passengers can now book their seats and travel between the two northeastern cities in just about 55 minutes.
Minister Kaushik Rai shared the news on Facebook, calling it “Good news for the people of Barak Valley and Tripura.” Barak Bulletin also attempted to reach the Minister for further comment on the development, but the call was left unanswered at the time of writing this report.
As per reports, the route was last served over a decade ago. The revival of the Agartala–Silchar flight is expected to significantly improve connectivity and convenience for travellers across the Barak Valley and Tripura.
