Goods train derailed near Phiding; Silchar-Guwahati, Silchar – Delhi, many other trains cancelled

At 11:05 hours, a goods train carrying fertilizers from Lumding to Salchapra derailed between Daotuhaja (DJA) and Phiding (PDJ). According to a senior Railway Officials, 18 coaches went off the track. The official, however, asserted that the investigation is on and there is no clarity on what resulted to this Railway mishap. 

As a result of this derailment, the Silchar-Guwahati, Agartala-Guwahati railway services is set to get affected. The railway official informed us that the Silchar – Guwahati train which left today early in the morning is now being controlled in New Haflong railway station. Kanchenjunga Express is also cancelled and so is Guwahati – Silchar express train, Guwahati Silchar passenger train and tomorrow morning’s Silchar-Guwahati train.

As per NFR’s press note a total of nine trains has been completely cancelled and two are partially.
