Green Corridor from SMCH to Silchar Airport; Karimganj’s Raktim Das to be transferred to Kolkata 

A “Green Corridor” will be arranged today in Silchar between Silchar Medical College and Hospital and Silchar Airport in Kumbirgram. As per available information, 42-year-old Raktim Das who is a resident of Nilmoni Road in Karimganj will be transferred to Kolkata in an Air Ambulance.

According to his brother, Ratul Das, on July 13, Raktim Das tested positive for Covid 19 and though he has tested negative, he has developed issues in his lungs. That is why, on their own, they have arranged an Air Ambulance to fly down the patient to Fortis Hospital in Kolkata.

“With reference to the subject cited above, I am to inform you that Sri Raktim Das age (42 years) residence of Nilmoni Road, Karimganj is admitted in Silchar Medical College (SMCH) and for his better treatment his family members want to shift him to Fortis Hospital Kolkata. Family members have already arranged everything for airlifting of the patient on July 23, 2021, at 11:15 am,” stated a letter issued by the deputy commissioner’s office to the Superintendent of Police, Cachar.

The letter added, “In this connection, I would like to request you to arrange a Green Corridor. The matter is urgent.”

Meanwhile, the weather is clear today and Airport sources informed that the Air Ambulance will land soon. It took off from Guwahati and will touch down Silchar and at around 11:30 am, the patient will be airlifted for Kolkata.
