Heroin Seized from Night Bus in Cachar; Three Arrested, Two Women

A substantial amount of drugs was seized from a night bus at Digorkhal gate in Cachar on Tuesday evening. Three passengers of the bus were involved in this drug shipment from Silchar to Guwahati. While on their way, they were apprehended by Cachar Police at Digorkhal for the possession of narcotic substances.

Cachar Police continuing their crackdown on drug trafficking with a successful operation at Digorkhal, seized a substantial amount of heroin from passengers aboard a night bus on January 21. The bus registered under AR 11A 7199 and operated by Deep Travels, was travelling from Silchar to Guwahati when police, acting on a tip-off, carried out a search.

During the operation, officers discovered 102 grams of suspected heroin hidden inside nine soap boxes in the bags of three passengers. The arrested individuals, identified as Bulbul Ali Laskar, Ruma Begum, and Baby Begum, are reportedly suppliers of the illicit substance. Bulbul Ali resides in Singirband, while Ruma Begum and Baby Begum are from the Banskandi areas of Cachar.

The seized heroin is estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees, with police continuing their investigation into the drug network.
