Hindu Samhati Silchar plans a massive rally on Mahalaya morning; To demonstrate in a detention camp-replica

Like last year, this year too the Hindu Samhati Silchar has planned a massive rally on the morning of Mahalaya. Subhasish Choudhury from the Samhati informed that this year the rally will begin from Narshingtola ground at 7 A.M on September 28, 2019, and will conclude as it reaches National Highway Road Silchar.

“From the last few years, Hindu Samhati has been arranging rallies in the heart of Silchar on the morning of Mahalaya. We invite people from all spheres of life and all the social and cultural organisations of Silchar and also the Puja committees to remain present in the said rally,” said Choudhury.

While last year the rally was just to mark the homecoming of Maa Durga this year, the Samhati, has plans to protest against Government’s decision to send Hindus to the detention camps. “We will make a replica of Detention camps and demonstrate about the life inside those camps in Assam,” informed Choudhury. He said that they will have a truck, with a detention camp built over it. In that would show how some people are pushed inside it while their family members left alone outside to starve. “The foot rally shall be marching just behind the truck which will be followed by a group of bikers at the very end part of the rally,” informed Choudhury.

He added, “Hindu Samhati welcomes all socio-cultural organisations and Puja committees of Silchar to join their rally on the Mahalaya-rally.”

Last year the rally attracted a massive number of youth and this year the association is expecting an even larger number.
