HSLC 2025 Results Declared: 63.98% Pass; Sivasagar Tops, Sribhumi at the Bottom

The Assam State School Education Board (SEBA) declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 on April 11. Out of 4,22,737 students who appeared for the exam, 2,70,471 passed, registering a pass percentage of 63.98%.

While boys outshone girls once again with a pass percentage of 67.59%, girls stood at 61.09%. A total of 89,041 students secured first division, 1,35,568 got second division, and 45,862 managed to pass in third division.

Among districts, Sivasagar emerged as the top performer with an impressive 85.55% pass rate, followed by Dibrugarh (81.10%) and Dhemaji (80.64%). At the bottom of the list, Sribhumi recorded the lowest performance with a pass percentage of just 47.96%, where only 8,160 of the 17,013 students cleared the exam.

From Barak Valley, Cachar district saw 13,221 out of 25,631 students passing, with a pass rate of 51.58%. In Hailakandi, 5,730 of 9,815 students passed, putting the district at 58.38%, marginally better than Cachar but still below the state average. Sribhumi, part of the valley, fared the worst in the state.

Amishi Saikia of Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, Jorhat, topped the state with 591 marks (98.50%).

Saptarswa Bordoloi from Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Noonmati, came second with 590 marks (98.33%), followed by Anirban Borgohain (Pragya Academy, Jorhat) with 589 marks (98.17%).

Category-wise, Scheduled Tribe (Plains) students performed best with 71.32%, while the Tea Tribe category recorded the lowest at 51.89%.

The HSLC 2025 exam was conducted from February 15 to March 3, and results were declared 37 days later on April 11 (Friday).
