“I am not joining BJP” Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha rubbishes rumours

Since last evening, rumours of North Karimganj MLA, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha joining BJP is spreading in Barak Valley like a wildfire. Purkayastha was seen in the same frame with former Congress minister who switched to BJP, Gautam Roy and Karimganj MP Kripanath Mallah.  

He wrote a post on his official Facebook page rubbishing the rumours. He wrote, “If your aim is to do work for the society there is no need to change the party. No need to join BJP.”

Just a few days back, Gautam Roy stated that Congress has lost its values and have become a party that is good for nothing. Roy insisted that he joined BJP to serve the people of Barak Valley, primarily the Hindus. Dey, on his post wrote that to serve people one must be “With the public and need to work for the public.”

 

Rubbishing the rumours he wrote, “Since last few hours I have noticed that through this picture rumours are spread that I am going to join BJP.  Clearly inform you that I have been invited for the inauguration ceremony of Diagnostic Centre, Karimganj and being a local MLA I have attended the program where Honble MP of Karimganj was also there for Inauguration along with other BJP members.”

His post concluded, “I have been elected as an MLA from the Congress party and people of Karimganj voted me, so my aim to develop the Karimganj and will try to work for the society. So pleass don’t spread (beilieve in) the rumors and for your information that I am not joining BJP.”
