IPL gambling event in Sonabarighat: Eight youths arrested by Police

On Tuesday night, the Cachar police launched an operation against gambling and achieved great success. Rangirkhari police arrested eight youths after raiding an IPL gambling base. These eight IPL gamblers were arrested from Sonabarighat area and produced before Silchar court after a raid conducted by Rangirkhari Outpost Sub-Inspector Shyamanand Singha. It is alleged that the IPL gambling was going on for many days with youths at the Top Sign Servicing Centre located in Sonabarighat area. Earlier this gambling event was held at Fetighat. After the people drove them away from Fetighat, they created their base at the Servicing Shop.

The names of the eight arrested youthd are Iqbal Hussain Laskar, Saqib Alam Laskar, Imdad Barbhuiya, Barul Hussain Barbhuiya, Sanju Ahmed Choudhury, Sadam Hussain Lashkar, Mukbul Hussain Laskar and Rakib Hussain Laskar. Three of the eight people are said to be residents of Sonabarighat, while the rest are residents of Krishnapur, Dhanehari and Sonai.
