Karimganj Police seizes 1.27 kgs of heroin packed in soap cases; three arrested in connection with the incident

Yesterday at around 3 am, a special team of Karimganj Police intercepted a vehicle with the registration number AS 10F 5299 near Kontakcherra under Bazaricherra Police Station area, based on secret reports. During the operation, the police recovered and seized 1.27kgs of heroin, which were packed in 100 soap cases. The vehicle was reportedly coming from Mizoram.

Three individuals, namely Kabir Ahmed, Ataf Uddin, and Kadir, were arrested in connection with the incident. They will be taken into police custody for further interrogation.

Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Karimganj SP, Partha Protim Das said, “We are trying to gather the source of heroin and other persons involved. Accordingly will take further course of actions.”
