
Karnataka Police Arrests Cachar Youth for Alleged Rape of Minor in Bengaluru
A team from Karnataka Police has arrested a youth from Cachar’s Sonai area for allegedly raping an 8-year-old in Bengaluru. Imran Hussain Laskar, a 24-year-old resident of Sonai’s New Ramnagar area was arrested on Sunday by the police team from Karnataka with the assistance of an Assam Police team from Cachar.
According to allegations, 24-year-old man Imran has been arrested by Karnataka Police for allegedly assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Bengaluru. The accused, who hails from New Ramnagar, was in a relationship with the child’s mother, a woman originally from Cooch Behar, West Bengal.
According to the woman’s allegations, Imran had introduced himself as unmarried and took advantage of her absence to commit the crime. She exposed the incident on social media before filing a formal complaint with Bengaluru Police.
Imran, who had moved to Bengaluru for work about a year ago, returned to his hometown on Saturday (February 22). The next day, a Karnataka Police team arrived and took him into custody. He lives with his wife and their three-year-old child in New Ramnagar.
Sources indicate that Imran will be presented in court on Monday, after which he will be transferred to Karnataka Police custody.
