Lightning Strike Kills Borkhola Teen While Ploughing Field

A 16-year-old teen tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning in Borkhola Part I of Cachar district on Thursday morning (July 24). The deceased has been identified as Sahel Hussain Mazumder, son of Ziarul (Abu) Hoque Mazumder.

According to eyewitnesses, Sahel was working in the fields with his father and uncle when a sudden thunderstorm rolled in. A bolt of lightning struck him, leaving him severely injured. He was rushed to the Borkhola Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The incident has left the community in shock and mourning. Sahel, known for being responsible and hardworking, is an earning member of his financially struggling family. Locals have appealed to the Chief Minister to extend financial aid to the grieving family.

His family and neighbours broke into tears at the hospital where he was declared dead.
