Lok Sabha Polls: From Heavyweights to Independents, Meet the Candidates of Silchar

In the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Silchar, voters will have a total of eight options to choose from, offering a diverse range of candidates representing various political parties and two independent candidates.

The three heavyweight leaders vying for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat include Radheshyam Biswas from the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), Suryakanta Sarkar from the Congress party, and Parimal Suklabaidya from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). These candidates have garnered significant attention and support from their respective parties.

However, the electoral landscape in Silchar extends beyond the prominent parties, with five other candidates also in the fray. Prabhas Chandra Sarkar is representing the SUCI(C), Barindra Kumar Das is the candidate for Bengali Nababirman Sena, Rajib Das is standing for the Bahujan Party, while Raju Das and Ananta Mohan Roy are running as independent candidates.

Each of these eight candidates is gearing up for a competitive campaign, aiming to secure the support of the electorate in Silchar. With diverse backgrounds and political affiliations, these candidates offer voters a range of choices as they head to the polls on April 26.

Meanwhile, as previously mentioned, Silchar comprises seven segments with over 1,000 polling stations, housing a total of 1,351,496 voters, including 676,331 male voters, 675,141 female voters, and 24 transgender voters. These segments include Lakhipur, Udharbond, Katigorah, Borkhola, Silchar, Sonai, and Dholai (SC), each contributing to the electoral landscape of Silchar constituency.
