Man hit by truck at Dholai, admitted at SMCH 

An unidentified man sustained critical injuries in a road mishap at Dholai, in Cachar district on Monday morning.

According to reports, the accident took place around 12:30pm. The man, who was riding on a scooty, was hit by a truck near Manipuri market at Dholai, around 36km from Silchar. As a result, the man received injuries, especially on his head that came in contact with the speeding truck.

The man was thereafter taken to the Dholai primary health centre where his preliminary treatment was done. A large number of residents went to the health centre, but could not identify him. The truck fled the spot after the mishap.

Considering his condition, he was later shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. As per last available reports, his identification could not be done yet.
