Man stabs wife, sets her on fire as she fails to pay dowry; case registered in Karimganj

A Patherkandi man has first stabbed and set his wife on fire to kill her. The entire fiasco happened over the brawl for divorce between the married couple. The unfortunate death of Khadeja Begam has saddened the entire village. Police was successful is nabbing the alleged husband, who with all evilness has killed his second wife Khedeja.

Jamal Uddin, the husband has allegedly conspired the murder of his wife. Jamal Uddin got married a second time despite having five children from his previous marriage. It is alleged that immediately after marrying Khadeja he started demanding dowry from her family.

When asked about the incident, Jamal Uddin tearfully claimed that “No one burnt her, she died by herself”

The OC of Patherkandi Police Station said “Whether Jamal Uddin is responsible or not shall be revealed after proper investigation”

The police is currently waiting for the autopsy report to continue further investigations. However, according to the police there is a clear link between the dowry harassment and dowry deaths. Jamal Uddin has been arrested for now and is in police custody.
