Minor attacked by two men for rejecting their sexual advances in Pathakandi

A 17 year old girl was attacked and severely wounded by two men after she rejected their sexual advances. The incident took place in Patharkandi’s Purbo Narayanpur Village. The victim’s father has filed a complaint with the local police and is expecting the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the girl went into the forest for taking back her cows from grazing. The perpetrators, identified as Joynaluddin, son of Laluddin, and Sarimuddin, son of Motiur Rahman, residents of the same village, had seen her go into the forest alone, and followed her inside where they made sexual advances, and tried to rape her, alleged the victim’s father. When the girl resisted, she was attacked by the duo. The perpetrators then fled from the spot leaving the girl fighting for her life.

When the victim didn’t return home on time, her family went out searching for her when they discovered her lying unconscious in the forest. Alarm was raised and the victim was rescued with the help of other villagers. She was rushed to Patharkandi Civil Hospital, from where she was referred to Karimganj Civil Hospital for speciality care due to the graveness of her injuries.

The incident has sparked tension and outrage from various quarters and the villagers have demanded harsh punishment for the perpetrators.

On the other hand, as of now, there is no news of police launching an investigation into the heinous incident.
