
New COVID19 patient is a car-lifter out of jail; Sonitpur resident got detected in Cachar yesterday
Last night a new patient got tested COVID19 positive in Cachar. A young man had returned from the Ajmer Rajasthan and was in the quarantine facility when the reports reached the local administration. Though the detection was in Cachar, the patient is actually a resident of Sonitpur district and as per available information boarded the wrong bus and reached Silchar.
Back in his native place in Dekhiahjuli’s Thelamara area, he is renowned as a car-lifter. In fact, as per Police sources, he spent a term in jail for stealing cars and other vehicles. Sources informed that he got into the same crime again after he was released from the cell. Apart from stealing cars, he has allegations of hijacking four-wheelers, kidnapping, and extortion against him.
After he got tested positive, local police officials from the Dekhiajuli area reached his residence along with medical officers. Reportedly, his wife no longer stays with him and he went to Ajmer to run away from police officials.
The administration refused to comment on the speculations and said the matter is being investigated
